Our Trip To Brunner Mine!

Our Trip To Brunner Mine !

Yesterday our class went to Brunner Mine for a day trip . We went to learn about the history of Brunner Mine . We learned about the big explosion and about what the jobs were there and also what they made there.

We had to get dressed up in olden day clothes that looked like they were worn in 1896. We also went and seen some of the things they used to work in . They were all really old but still in pretty good shape since it had been 123 years since the explosion . Did you know that there was a big underground mine explosion in the 18 hundreds?

We also when to the old Stillwater graveyard and we got given some  questions that we had to try and find the answers too. One of the questions was too find out who was the oldest and the youngest that died in the Brunner Mine.

My favourite thing that we did was probably just getting dressed up and taking the photos.

I really liked this trip and I hope we will go on another one .

Here are some photos  !

  2. Hi Caysey, thanks for sharing about our trip to the Brunner Mine Site. It was a fantastic learning experience and I too hope that we can get out into our community for more exploration days this term. What effect do you think the Brunner Mine Explosion had on the community of Brunnerton at the time?
