Interactive Image / Hero

This is my hero interactive image that I have made of what I think a hero is. We have been focusing on hero for the past couple of weeks. We had to create our own drawing that shows the five key characteristics we think makes a hero.  We also used a new app that is called https://interactive-img.com/. This is the interactive image that I have made. If you hover over the hot spots it will explain my key characteristics.

Amazon Fires

This year there have been 72,843 deadly fires in the Amazon rain forest. That is a nearly 80 percent jump compared to the number of fires the country experienced over the same time period in 2018. That means that there has been a load more fires then last year which is pretty bad.

Arts

This week we had to finish our calendar art for our calendar art we made a design on aboriginal art. We had to get a stencil there was once shaped as a boomerang, a kangaroo, a snake, a lizard, and small snake and lizard. I chose to do a boomerang and a small lizard for my art. We had to do a practice one on a small peace of paper with our cotton buds and paint. After we had finished our practice one we had to do our one that was going up in the hall. Once we have done that we had to make our real one for our calendar art here is my one to go into the hall.

Enlargements

This week in maths we have had to chose a type of maths to do and find out the art involved and heaps more. I chose enlargements to do for maths and we had to make a DLO for the thing we chose. After have had done our DLO we then had to make our outlines for our art and then after we had to either pastel it or colour it with coloured pencils.

This Weeks Work .

This week we were finishing off work from camp we have also started reading a book called Wishtree we have had to start answering questions from the book . Here is the book that we have been reading . I'm looking forward to reading this book this term . 

Camp Recount .

Last week we went on camp to Hanmer Springs we did
loads of things like going to the Hot Pools , Orienteering
, Mountain Biking, Tree climbing and more stuff like that!
The classes that went to camp were Totara 4 and Totara 3.  
We went to Hanmer springs because there was a lot of
stuff to do and we were learning about the natural hot pools .

We had to have spaghetti bolognaise one night and had to
have devilled sausages the next night .

When we went to the Hanmer Springs hot pools we went in
mostly all of the pools and we went down the water slides and
super bowl.  It was super cold getting in and out of the pools
and very cold going up to wait for the watersides .

We also went tree climbing and it was really fun I thought it was
easy but some people thought it was really hard. It was nerve
wracking at first and then it got easier and easier .

Another activity we did was orienteering which included
needing to use a map and having to go and find the little indicators
that give you points. This is what they look like .   

My 3 favourite parts of camp were probably the Hot Pools , Tree Climbing and also Orienteering because they were all super fun, easy to do, very entertaining and I've never done most of them before .

I really liked Hanmer Springs camp and hope I will go there again one day !!!

Our Task: Write an explanation that explains why and how the water gets hot in the hot pools at Hanmer.

Do you know how the natural hot pools are hot ?

Well I’m going to teach you how  the Hanmer springs hot pools are hot !

In the small town Hanmer Springs there are natural hot pools that are formed by themselves . The water gets to high temperatures by the earth's core . Now I bet you are wondering how they are hot well what happens is …

In the world there is a thing called the ring of fire and New Zealand is right in the middle of it . There is also a fault line in New Zealand and the fault line causes earthquakes . The Earthquakes make cracks into the ground and the water goes into the cracks . It goes close to the earth's core so it heats up to high temperatures .

After the water heats up to high temperatures it goes back up the cracks and that’s how the water is so hot . Right now the water is about 173 years old and has been evaporating for years now .  

I hope today you learnt something about Hanmer Springs and next time of you go to Hanmer try to find out some more facts !

Last week we had to choose a vocabulary word related to Hanmer Spring's to investigate.  We had to define what it is then explain what it has to do with Hanmer. We chose to do it about earths core and here it is. 

Five Things About Grey Main School !

This Week I have decided to make a blog post about The 5 things You should know for the Grey Main Visitors . This is another one of our tasks we have to do for our weekly blogging . 

1 Thing you should know is if you get in trouble use the oar the oar means O for ownership A means accountability and R is responsibility . You should always use the Oar and not bed The bed the B means Blame the E means excuses and D means Danial . So you should always chose the oar over the Bed . 

The 2 thing you should know is always respect other people and there own property . 

The 3rd thing you should know is think before you do . Think before you say something because if you don't you might do something you will get in trouble for .

4 Always make sure you are ready and have everything you need for learning . Make sure you have a pencil if you need it or a book.

5 Listen to what your teacher or any teacher around the school tells you to do or you might get a warning if you don't do it .

So i hope you learnt something about the grey main rules or something that you should do in everyday life . I think that these rules are rules everyone should follow don't you ?

Reflections Week 6 2017

This is my literacy for the week me and Aniya have asked 4-3 questions about the seal colony we are going to see them on Monday when we go to camp I think that I need to improve on getting more questions and I think I put good effete on my sentences.
