Summer learning Journey

Today for Summer learning journey we have to interview three friends at school about what they have achieved this year. 

1. Madisyn is proud of going to the west coast athletics champs.

3. Katelin is proud of being more confident at school and sports 

4. Adison is proud of her stay nines at school.

For the next two weeks we are going to be trialling the summer learning journey which is an activity that kids can do throughout the school holidays. You can win prizes and books by doing this activity. Each day for the next two weeks we are going to be doing one task a day here is the first task that I have done.

Interactive Image / Hero

This is my hero interactive image that I have made of what I think a hero is. We have been focusing on hero for the past couple of weeks. We had to create our own drawing that shows the five key characteristics we think makes a hero.  We also used a new app that is called https://interactive-img.com/. This is the interactive image that I have made. If you hover over the hot spots it will explain my key characteristics.

My Super Power

This term we are having a lady come in every Monday to teach us about careers. This Monday I wasn't at school because I was sick but our class were asked to  make this and find out "Our Superpower". This is the drawing I made. We had to think about something we were good at and then think of all of the skills we needed or were learning when we were doing this activity.

World Cup Sports

This week on Tuesday we had world cup sport's which is an activity our school does. We get put into groups and have all different age levels into a group there are heaps of different groups and once they are put into groups they are given a country. Each country has to go to 6 games which you verse other teams to try and win 10 points. After you have played those 6 games you get all of your points and add them up. The group with the most points win and then there is second and third. My group that I was in was Russia our group came second out of the hole school. I thought that it was really fun for my last year. 

Persuasive Writing

This term we have been working on pervasive writing today I made a peace of persuasive wring about swimming here it is.

Swimming lessons should be compulsory for every child.

Swimming lessons are lessons that children and adults do to learn how to swim. They learn how to swim so for safety issues and people also swim to get better and better. People even swim to try and be world champions. All around the world people take swimming lessons to get them or their children better at swimming.

I strongly believe that swimming lessons should be compulsory for every child in the world. These are the reasons I think that they should make swimming lessons compulsory.

Firstly, water can kill.

Each day an estimate of about 10 people die from drowning, of those 10 people 2 of them are aged 14 or younger. I think that swimming lessons should be compulsory because if you learn how to swim at a young age there will be a lower chance of people dying. If there is a flood and the only way to get to safety is swimming your going to need to know how to swim right?

Secondly, you will feel more comfortable around any water.

If kids have compulsory swimming lessons they will not be able to make up excuses to not go swimming like most kids do around the world. They do this because they may not be bothered or don’t feel confident enough because they can’t swim well. They will feel much more confident and they will not be scared of water and be able to have fun with family and friends without the threat of drowning.

Lastly, the world with have less deaths.

If all kids started doing swimming lessons the world would have less deaths which would lead to better lives. I think that the world would be a much better place and would be much safer.

I strongly believe that swimming lessons should be compulsory for all kids around the world because water can kill,you'll feel much safer, and the world will have less deaths. I hope you now think that kids should have swimming lessons.

End of term reflection

This term we have been up to a lot of things like PrEP, wearable arts and more. PrEP and wearable arts were probably my favourite about this term as well because they were the only really big things that we did. This term I was very proud of making $1347 for PrEP with the float of $100. Next term my goal is to be up to the standerd that you should be up to for a year 9. Here are some photos from this term.
